Annotations
Panel #1 - I spent a lot more time in Photoshop fiddling around with Vayla's spell effects on this episode. I used some assorted brushes here for the sparkles, both blue and white. For the beam I set the layer blending options to Outer Glow - screen, opacity 100, noise 5, spread 1, size 185, range 50, jitter 0.
Panel #2 - Looks like the troll took the full brunt of Vayla's spell here.
Panel #3 - Strange. His chest is glowing green? I copied the troll's chest to another layer and set it the blending options to Outer Glow (screen, opacity 71, noise 0, spread 8, size 141, range 50, jitter 0) and Inner Glow (normal, opacity 19, noise 0, center, choke 0, size 5, range 50, jitter 0). I also applied a filter (brush strokes, accented edges, edge width 2, edge brightness 34, smoothness 5).
Panel #4 - Wouldn't it be nice to be able to regenerate severed body parts?
Panel #5 - Virtual donut to the first person that can source frackencracking. I think it makes a good dwarven vulgarity, don't you?
Panel #6 - The post hoc logical fallacy is exactly as Vayla describes: assuming that A caused B merely because A preceded B.
Panel #7 - I'm sure that others have coined the word recapitated before me. But, Kamik here is using the word perfectly. Elves, of course, have very infrequent contact with trolls and so don't even believe the word is real. (In case you're wondering what the troll is doing, he's dancing for joy because his head grew back - wouldn't you?)
